Mud, Sweat and Teargas Benedict, went to volunteer in Calais in 2015 because his carpentry skills were needed and at the time, he believed he could make a difference. Winter had arrived; people were going to freeze to death on his doorstep, whilst the authorities of two “great” nations ignored their plight despite the bodies of children washing up on beaches. It would be left to small charities and independent volunteers working together with refugees to make a difference, or at least try. Have you ever wanted the truth?
