Aimed at human physical therapists (including osteopaths, chiropractors, physiotherapists and other body workers), who are adding equine treatments to their repertoire, this atlas presents the horse's anatomy in a traditional format, from osteology through to neurology and angiology. The musculoskeletal anatomy of the horse, with its similarities and differences to humans, is clearly presented over 380 pages filled with over 770 drawings, illustrations and photographs, allowing the reader to form a complete picture of the anatomical structures as disassembled parts and of the whole live horse - from the molecular morphology of the connective tissues to the external topography of the palpable anatomy. Just as in human practice, a thorough knowledge of anatomy allows a true understanding of what you are feeling under your hands. From my earliest studies, I found that it was easiest for me to learn the equine anatomy by focussing on the similarities to the human, and then noticing the differences, and so I have included those observations in this book.
